Fridheim barnehage AS is an independent private kindergarten with 74 children and 18 staff. Here are opening hours, fees, admission and how we welcome new children.

Opening hours

07.30–16.30

Monday to Friday.

Parental fee

Maximum rate

Currently NOK 1,200 per month. 11 monthly payments – July is free.

Food

kr 500 / mnd

Two meals a day, hot food once or twice a week.

Trip money

NOK 500 / year

For museums, theatre and outings – trips are central to what we do.

Closed in weeks 28–31, between Christmas and New Year, on the weekdays of Easter and on five planning days a year.

Applying and admission

Apply through the main admission – deadline 1 March.

You apply through the district's main admission, where you can list five kindergartens in order of priority. We admit according to our admission criteria (see the by-laws) from the applicant lists we receive from the district – we have no waiting list of our own.

Settling in

  1. 1Days 1 and 2 – you stay the whole time.
  2. 2Day 3 – a short day without parents, if the child is ready.
  3. 3One adult is your child's main contact at first.
  4. 4Start dates are spread across August so everyone gets time.

Inspections and safety

Safe – and documented.

  • Frogner district: document inspection 26.11.2025 (Kindergarten Act §§ 24–26) – no deviations.
  • Electrical inspection 15.12.2025 – no deviations. Our own check of electrical items four times a year.
  • Inspection under the regulations on environment and health in kindergartens, 10 September 2024.
  • Fire-safety course for all staff 17 September 2024 – and at least two fire drills a year.
  • First-aid course for all staff every year, at the start of the kindergarten year.
  • Annual safety check of the outdoor area (SKAN-KONTROLL) and regular pest control (Rentokil).
  • Emergency plans for serious incidents, and HSE support through PBL-Mentor.

We work with the district's specialist team, the educational-psychological service, the health clinic and child welfare services.
